Ana is 1!

Ana turned ONE!  I can't believe it.  The year went by so fast. We had a fun birthday with her. On her real birthday we went to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Macdonald and Uncle Scott.

We celebrated her birthday a day late so that Nana and Grandpa Dayley could make it. We all went out to lunch! We came home and surprised Ana with her new swing set. She loved it, especially the swing. She took a little nap then we had a few friends along with family for cake. I made her a giant cupcake. It turned out pretty cute.  She was a little uncertain what to do with the cake so I helped her put her fingers in the frosting and taste them.  That was all it took.  She dug in and had great time destroying the cake.

She was completely spoiled and loved every minute. Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us! We are so grateful to have this sweet little girl in our lives.

A few things about Ana at 1 year. She cans say a few animal sounds including: monkey, dog, lion, and sometimes kitty. She can say the word "Hello." She loves to imitate me talking on the phone. She walks around like I do and jabbers and even throws in a few laughs. It is really pretty hilarious. She loves her baby dolls and will bring them to Mommy and Daddy to get hugs. She continues to love our dog Frodo. She loves to give him pats and hugs. Unfortunately, she also likes to poke her finger in his eyes. She knows she isn't supposed to. When you catch her doing it she will immediately look guilty and start patting him instead. She loves the kitchen appliances. If you open the fridge or the dishwasher you better be quick or she will take up residence inside. Removal from the premises is a definite cause for a tantrum. She also loves to play in the pantry and Tupperware drawer. She is big help with the laundry and is convinced that I don't fold as well as she does. So she unfolds...I mean refolds all the laundry. She also doesn't think clothes belong in drawers and makes it her daily business to pull as many articles of clothing out of her drawers as she can. Ana loves to play outside. Her favorite outdoor toy is the Chuck-it. It is a dog toy. You use it throw the ball the the dog. She wants to hold it and won't let anyone else have it. She holds it while riding in her car, walking around, and even while she swings. I think she just likes to have Frodo's undivided attention. He follows her around barking at her to throw the ball. Ana loves water and hates milk. She will drink water from a cup but if you put milk in a cup she makes an awful face and refuses to drink it. Her favorite foods right now are grapes, mandarins, and cream cheese chicken. She is so much fun and we are just loving every moment with her!
